The aroma of beers is influenced by the ingredients that go into them, from hops to grain, water to yeast. Using dark, roasty malts, for example, will give you a chocolatey, roasty aroma, while experimenting with different yeasts can deliver some particularly interesting results and open up delicious new avenues of flavour.
Hops are where it starts for American pale ale Panhead Supercharger. Centennial, Citra and Simcoe hops pack a powerful aroma punch, with a strong flavour and assuredly bitter finish. This is an ale for the hopheads among us and its superb craftsmanship saw it awarded as Beer of the Year in 2015 by New Zealand’s Society of Beer Advocates, which is high praise indeed.
