GUEST EDITORS 'TWO GIRLS ONE FORK' TALK FOOD AND DRINK PAIRINGS
The past few weeks here at MoCU we’ve been lucky enough to partner with leading Sydney food and drink bloggers Two Girls One Fork. The lovely Lola and Lea took us on an inspired tour of our own food inspired Collection, Journey to Gastronomy – a curated collection of exclusive craft beers, hand picked to transform your next meal into something even more extraordinary. The girls have served up some of their own delicious food and beer combo’s that will have you channelling Jaime or Neil the next time you’re planning your own food and beverage menu’s. Here’s what they had to say….
TGOF cooks. Now, avid followers will know that's not necessarily true. But we aren't noobs in the kitchen either. We can muster up a mean meal when we need to. Especially when it means pairing the dish with beer. Mmm beer.
Join us on our culinary journey with MoCU (these guys are doing amazing things curating collections of beer, cider and wine) as we explore our taste buds.
We have selected the MOCU Journey to Gastronomy range to begin with, which is a range of 10 beers that make for incredible food and beer pairings.
Here is the Knappstein lager. This is a crisp fruity and floral drop which we have paired with a crispy skinned salmon and whole seed mustard mash and asparagus. Perfecto.
We think beer can be just as indulgent as any other beverage. We have decided to go a bit left of field and team this guy with a full bodied dark chocolate and red grapes. Rich and packing a flavour punch, this malt ale is delightfully hoppy with a strong toffee, chocolate and bitter underbelly.
Nothing beats a pot pie, mash and mushy peas. Well except when you couple it with a traditional English ale like the Wizard Smith Ale. And then you have pure genius. This is a taste sensation. MoCU, you have done it again.
Now this is the only way to watch the sportsball. We certainly don't know the rules but we can still have a great time. Being WA girls, Little Creatures will always have a special place in our hearts. It will also have a special place in our bellies alongside classic cheese and chips.
