Below is just a snapshot to get you started on your craft beer drinking odyssey.
Little Creatures, Fremantle
40 Mews Rd, Fremantle, WA 6160
No craft beer mission is complete without a pilgrimage to the pioneers of the Australian craft beer scene, Little Creatures. A perennially popular spot situated in a former crocodile farm on the water’s edge in Fremantle, we recommend first paying homage to their flagship Pale Ale, the beer that started it all, before treating yourself to a fine drop from their year round range. A series of limited release beers give hop-head aficionados something new to explore, as do the different and very welcoming spaces found within the brewery, including The Great Hall, the Brewhouse, Creatures Next Door and The Deck. A broad-ranging menu of mouthwatering treats makes the perfect accompaniment to an expertly crafted beer.

Sail & Anchor Pub Brewery, Fremantle
64 South Terrace, Fremantle, WA 6160
Established in 1884, this heritage listed pub is an iconic landmark in Fremantle and was one of Australia’s first pub breweries. Painstakingly restored and upgraded, the dramatic spiral staircase, wood panelled walls and pressed tin ceiling call to mind another era, but it’s the extensive offering of craft beers that really impresses. Boasting 40 cold taps, three hand pumps, a hopinator and four bars, this is an unmissable destination for the craft beer enthusiast. The tap beer selection changes regularly with a mix of old classics and new favourites, along with small batch releases and seasonal styles. Secure a spot by an open window downstairs and watch the world go by or take in an elevated view of Fremantle on the expansive balcony upstairs as you sample the best of the local and international craft beer community.
